Every PandAi7 website launches on our domain, so you never need to buy anything to go live. But your own domain makes your business easier to remember, looks better on a business card, and stays yours forever.
PandAi7 charges nothing extra for using your own domain. You buy it from a domain registrar — usually $10–20 a year — and we handle the technical side: we tell you exactly which DNS records to set, and HTTPS is issued automatically.
First, choose a good name
- Keep it short and easy to say out loud — if you have to spell it twice, keep looking.
- Prefer .com when it's available; it's still what people type by default. A local ending (like .de or .co.uk) also works great for local businesses.
- Avoid hyphens and numbers — they're easy to mistype and hard to dictate over the phone.
- Match your real business name rather than a clever variation — consistency with your signage and Google listing builds trust.
- Check the renewal price, not just the first-year offer. Some registrars advertise a cheap first year and charge much more from year two.
Buying the domain
Any accredited registrar works — popular choices are GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, and Porkbun. The process is the same everywhere:
- Open the registrar's website and search for the name you want. If it's taken, try another ending or a small variation.
- Add the domain to your cart — and skip the upsells. You don't need hosting, email, or a website builder; PandAi7 already covers your website.
- Keep WHOIS/domain privacy on if it's offered. Most registrars include it for free, and it keeps your personal details out of the public record.
- Pay and create your account. The domain is yours within minutes, managed from the registrar's dashboard.
Connecting it to your PandAi7 site
Now point the domain at your website. You do this once — it takes about ten minutes of clicking plus some DNS waiting time:
- Open your PandAi7 control panel and go to Domains, then choose Connect Your Domain.
- Enter your domain — for example www.yourbusiness.com — and click Connect.
- PandAi7 shows the exact DNS records to add: an A record for the root domain and a CNAME for www.
- In your registrar's dashboard, open the DNS settings and add those records exactly as shown.
- Back in PandAi7, click Check Status. Once your DNS is verified, we issue your SSL certificate automatically — usually within 5–15 minutes.
- That's it. Your website now opens at your own domain, with HTTPS, on both the root and www addresses.
Quick answers
- How much does this cost?
- The domain itself costs whatever your registrar charges — typically $10–20 per year for a .com. Connecting it to PandAi7 is included in your plan at no extra cost.
- How long does it take?
- Buying takes minutes. DNS changes usually apply fast but can take up to 48 hours to propagate worldwide; the SSL certificate typically follows within 15 minutes of verification.
- Will my site go offline while I connect the domain?
- No. Your site stays live the whole time — your own domain simply becomes the new front door once verification completes.
- What if verification fails?
- Double-check that the records match exactly what PandAi7 shows, give DNS a little time, and click Check Status again. Still stuck? Contact support and we'll look at it with you.
- Can I change or remove the domain later?
- Yes. You can remove a connected domain, or abandon a pending setup, at any time from the same Domains page.
